MISSION STATEMENT
To promote the art of dance for everyone in Zimbabwe regardless of color, tribe, political or religious affiliation or disabilities, through long-
The promotion and encouragement of dance in such form and by such means as may from time to time be determined by the organization.
The training of dance students, regardless of their social and economic background, into performers, choreographers and teachers of dance.
To encourage and facilitate the training of community dance animateurs and arts administrators.
To promote cultural values within Zimbabwe.
To work with national, regional and international dance organizations to ensure the development and sustainability of dance in Zimbabwe.
To encourage the practicing of dance by both male and female.
To award grants and bursaries to students and teachers of dance if and when the funds are available
The DTZ has committed itself to using dance as means of communication, education, creativity, empowerment and of course entertainment. The trust recognizes that through the promotion of dance and dance collaborations it can make a contribution to the sustainable development of young people in Zimbabwe.
The economic crisis in Zimbabwe is, however, taking its toll and the financial support of many formalized arts projects is not a guarantee.
